Day three started in the most dramatic of circumstances with hot favourite and banker of the day, Envoi Allen, falling less than a mile into the Marsh Novices’ Chase.

Chantry House stayed on best up the hill to get JP McManus his first winner of this year’s festival for Nico de Boinville and Nicky Henderson.

It was a winner for the Liverpool supporters in the Pertemps as Mrs Milner bolted up for Bryan Cooper and Paul Nolan.

The performance of the day saw Allaho destroy the field in the Ryanair for a pillar to post win under the hottest jockey in the country at the moment, Rachael Blackmore.

It was a 12 length win in the end and another superstar in the Willie Mullins yard.

There was another great performance in our feature of the day, the Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle, as Gavin Crowmwell’s Flooring Porter made all and jumped superbly to land the big prize of day three.

Danny Mullins was on board in place for the injured Jonathan Moore, who was riding the horse until he didn’t feel 100% on the gallops this morning and requested Danny took the ride.

A big payday was in the next too as The Shunter went in for Mullins and youngster Jordan Gainford.

This time it was Emmet Mullins, who also sees the horse bag an extra £100k bonus for winning at the Festival after a win at Kelso earlier in the season.

The Blackmore show carried on in the next, Rachael aboard Telmesomethinggirl snaking her way through the field to win the Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle cosily in the end, making it FIVE for Blackmore this week.

And we finished off with another Denise Foster winner as Jack Kennedy somehow got Mount Ida – tailed off early on – to stay on and run away up the hill for a commanding lead.
